Heurist
Academic Knowledge Management System developed by Dr Ian Johnson and his Arts eResearch team at the University of Sydney.
Heurist is an Open Source collaborative web database software for recording and publishing rich, interlinked, heterogenous data integrated with web bookmarking, bibliographic functions, mapping and timelines.

FAIMS
The Federated Archaeological Information Management Systems Project at the University of New South Wales. ARC funded. Key component is the mobile application.

Quantum GIS (QGIS)
A mature Open Source alternative to ESRI and MapInfo, available for Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, Android and other platforms.
